Healthy growth, a smaller financial cushion. Prior optimization costs flatter the earnings comparison, while new debt helped fund acquisitions and distributions. Three explicit valuation routes support a rounded $250 central value. At the saved $214.50 premarket reference, the cash route leaves limited room for error; our conditional entry review is $200.

Accenture's new report presents two truths at once. The operating business grew across markets and types of work, and fourth-quarter revenue exceeded the company's own range. Yet an investor who looks only at the increase in reported earnings or the cash balance can overestimate how much the economics improved. The prior-year quarter's restructuring comparison makes GAAP growth unusually large, and fresh borrowing helped support a year of substantial acquisitions and shareholder distributions. Our question is whether repeatable cash available to owners justifies the price after those distinctions are made.
We use the saved October 1 premarket observation of $214.50 as the valuation reference. The last completed daily close in the separately saved provider series is September 30 at $183.37. These observations belong to different market sessions; they are not contradictory closing prices. The ranker's premarket change is a snapshot since that close and can reverse. The historical chart uses completed daily closes, while the current reference appears as a separate valuation marker. No full October 1 closing reaction is available at this review.
Our equity-value calculation deliberately uses the approximately 596 million total shares disclosed at August 31. The provider's market capitalization reflects a different share-count or timing basis, so it is not combined with the issuer's balance sheet without reconciliation. The quarter-end count is approximate and is neither the quarter's diluted weighted-average denominator nor a guarantee of today's exact outstanding shares. This transparent approximation is preferable to quietly combining inconsistent denominators. Recalculate the valuation after the annual filing updates the share information.
HOLD at an estimated $250 central value reflects a distinction between a company we consider economically resilient and a sufficiently protected entry price. The cash route is less generous than the earnings route, and the large change in net liquidity makes capital allocation a substantive part of the valuation. A lower price near $200 would give a twenty-percent discount to our central estimate, provided the operating evidence remains intact. That review level is a decision rule, not a promise that the market will trade there or that the shares cannot fall further.

The fourth quarter ended August 31, 2026. Revenue was $18.679 billion against $17.596 billion a year earlier, while GAAP operating income rose to $2.863 billion from $2.050 billion. This is a real increase in profits, but its interpretation depends on the base. The prior-year quarter contained $615.324 million of business-optimization costs, including approximately $344 million of severance and $271 million of impairments; the current quarter contained none. The company's adjusted prior operating income was therefore $2.665 billion. Comparing against that level gives a much more modest improvement than the headline GAAP change.
The same distinction applies to diluted earnings per share. Current GAAP EPS of $3.29 compares with $2.25 reported and $3.03 adjusted in the prior-year quarter. Management describes those comparisons as 46 percent and 9 percent growth, respectively. Neither number is inherently wrong. The first measures the shareholder's reported accounting result, including restructuring. The second is more useful for understanding performance after the unusually large prior charge. An honest assessment retains both and explains why a repeat of the larger growth rate is not the central forecast.
Full-year revenue reached $74.183 billion, and adjusted operating income reached $11.714 billion. Adjusted annual EPS rose to $13.97 from $12.93. The annual reconciliation still excludes $307.541 million of optimization costs recorded in the first quarter, so it would be inaccurate to describe the whole fiscal year as adjustment-free. The company says the actions initiated in the prior fourth quarter were completed during that first quarter. Completion resolves the specific program's timing; it does not establish that all future restructuring costs disappear permanently.
The release supplies a broad first-quarter revenue range of $18.95 billion to $19.60 billion and annual local-currency growth of three to six percent. Management assumes approximately a one-percent negative currency effect in the first quarter and a flat effect for the year. These assumptions should remain separate from operational growth. They are not a company forecast of an exact future dollar revenue figure. Our model uses the annual growth midpoint and the stated flat currency assumption solely to construct an explicit analytical revenue case.

Growth is spread across the business rather than resting on one geographical market. Fourth-quarter revenue was $9.432 billion in the Americas, $6.581 billion in EMEA and $2.666 billion in Asia Pacific. Each geography grew seven percent in local currency, although translated dollar growth differed. That breadth provides better evidence of customer demand than a single contract announcement. It also means the company remains exposed to several economic cycles, public-sector budgets, regulatory systems and currencies rather than one clean global demand indicator.
Geographic profitability is more uneven. Americas operating income was $1.616 billion, EMEA $865 million and Asia Pacific $382 million. Asia Pacific's reported profit declined despite revenue growth. The prior-year restructuring adjustments differ by geography, so the adjusted comparison deserves attention there as well. A business can grow its top line while its mix, staffing or delivery costs reduce profit. The consolidated margin should not conceal that distinction. Future annual and quarterly filings provide a way to test whether the regional weakness is temporary or structural.
Consulting revenue and managed-services revenue were approximately balanced at $9.281 billion and $9.398 billion. Consulting bookings of $9.40 billion produced a rounded book-to-bill of one, while managed-services bookings of $12.77 billion produced 1.4. Managed services therefore supplies more of the bookings cushion in this quarter. Bookings are not a bank deposit or a guarantee of immediate revenue: their duration, cancellation terms and conversion schedule matter. The release does not provide enough detail to treat the entire bookings total as next year's recognized sales.
Industry groups also show broad but uneven growth. Communications, Media and Technology grew eleven percent in local currency, Health and Public Service nine, Financial Services six, Resources six and Products four. These are revenue classifications, not independently disclosed profit pools. We do not assign operating margins to industry groups or types of work when the release does not supply them. Accenture's AI positioning is commercially important, but calling every technology engagement AI revenue would inflate what the financial disclosure actually establishes.

The earnings bridge starts with operating income, adds interest income, subtracts interest expense and other expense, and then subtracts tax and noncontrolling interests. In the quarter, interest income of $103.377 million nearly matched interest expense of $103.821 million. Other expense of $64.910 million then reduced pretax income to $2.798 billion. After $764.358 million of tax, consolidated net income was $2.034 billion. Ordinary shareholders did not receive all of that consolidated amount: other and Canadian noncontrolling interests reduce the attributable result.
Accenture's diluted EPS calculation adds back the income attributable to exchangeable Canadian holdings because it assumes those shares convert one for one into Class A ordinary shares. Other noncontrolling interests are not treated the same way. This is why dividing parent net income by a rounded share count will not precisely reproduce the release's EPS. The packet preserves the issuer's denominator and attributable-income definitions. Our valuation share proxy serves a separate purpose and is clearly labeled rather than used to manufacture an apparent earnings discrepancy.
The full-year adjusted EPS bridge is especially useful. Higher revenue and operating results added $1.05, a lower share count added $0.33, lower non-operating income subtracted $0.10 and a higher effective tax rate subtracted $0.24. This supports the view that the business improved while identifying the portion attributable to fewer shares. Share repurchases can increase per-share earnings even when aggregate profits grow more slowly. That can create value at an attractive price, but the benefit must be evaluated against borrowing, stock compensation and acquisition spending.
Reported margin expansion should therefore be split into comparison effects and ongoing operating improvement. Eliminating the prior-year quarter's optimization charge explains much of the GAAP increase. The remainder still matters: current revenue exceeded guidance and adjusted-comparable operating profit increased. We do not dismiss those achievements because the headline is flattered. Instead, the valuation capitalizes a sustainable profit level and treats the latest quarter as one piece of evidence about that level. The annual margin outlook calls for further, relatively small improvement over adjusted fiscal 2026.

Cash conversion is strong over the year, although less striking in the latest quarter. Operating cash flow of $12.363 billion exceeded consolidated net income of $8.523 billion. After $742.748 million of capital spending, company-defined free cash flow was $11.621 billion. Depreciation, amortization and other adjustments contributed $2.355 billion, and share-based compensation contributed $2.100 billion to the operating-cash reconciliation. The company is asset-light in physical capital, but that does not make all of those noncash charges economically irrelevant to owners.
We show an owner-cash proxy that subtracts share compensation from free cash flow. This is an analytical allowance for dilution or the cash required to offset it, not a restatement of the company's GAAP cash flow. It is deliberately conservative because repurchases and equity issuance are not a perfect contemporaneous match to the expense recognized. We do not also subtract the entire repurchase program from that same proxy: doing so would mix distributions with operating economics and could double count the cost of offsetting employee shares.
Management's reported days services outstanding rose from 47 to 50. Receivables and current contract assets also increased. A three-day change is a reason to monitor collections, not proof of manipulated sales or a bad debt problem. Contract milestones, billing mix, currency and acquisitions can affect the balance. The company combines receivables and contract assets in the release, so a mechanical ending-balance calculation is not interchangeable with its DSO definition. The correct next step is to compare the same management metric over time and read the annual footnotes.
Our nine-check scorecard therefore contains both positive and cautionary conclusions. Annual cash conversion and the smaller adjustment gap are constructive. Share compensation, rising DSO, tax variability and the increased debt burden limit how confidently accounting earnings can be translated into distributable owner cash. Inventory days are not a useful operating measure for a service-led enterprise and are marked not applicable, rather than forced into a manufacturing template. A scored checklist is an aid to judgment; it is not a statistical fraud detector or a substitute for the underlying statements.

The cash balance increased to $12.831 billion, but funded debt increased to $10.112 billion. Adding the small short-term-investment balance leaves about $2.726 billion of net cash. A year earlier, comparable net cash was about $6.336 billion. The company therefore ended the year with more gross cash and a smaller net financial cushion. Neither description alone is sufficient. Gross liquidity helps meet near-term needs, while net cash better describes the residual financial resources after funded borrowing is recognized.
The financing statement explains much of the apparent contradiction. Net debt proceeds of $4.979 billion arrived during the year, alongside $1.341 billion from ordinary-share issuance. Share purchases consumed $7.521 billion, dividends $3.987 billion and purchases of businesses and investments $4.941 billion. Company free cash flow is measured before those acquisition and shareholder-return uses. The resulting funding mix is a capital-allocation choice, not evidence that the operating business cannot generate cash. Still, it makes the return on acquired businesses and the repurchase price more important.
The net-cash measure excludes lease liabilities, redeemable noncontrolling interests and other operating obligations. We show those separately rather than call the company obligation-free. Acquisitions also contributed to goodwill of $26.819 billion, which is not a cash reserve that can automatically be distributed. Impairment would be noncash when recognized but could reveal that prior acquisition spending earned an inadequate return. For that reason, our enterprise multiple is applied to an operating profit measure consistent with leaving lease costs in the business, and no hidden lease adjustment is introduced.
Fiscal 2027 free-cash-flow guidance of $11.0 billion to $11.8 billion has a midpoint slightly below fiscal 2026. The higher planned capital spending and working-capital timing can explain some divergence from EPS growth, but the release does not provide a complete future bridge. It would be premature either to extrapolate a cash collapse or to ignore the restraint in management's own forecast. The company expects at least $9.5 billion of capital return; any acquisition program will compete for remaining internally generated cash or additional financial capacity.

Our first route applies eighteen times the $14.60 midpoint of fiscal 2027 EPS guidance, giving $262.80 per share. The multiple is our judgment, not a management objective or a quoted peer median. It recognizes the recurring customer relationships, breadth and cash production while discounting slower growth, execution risk and potential pricing pressure. Earnings already contain financial income and financing costs, so this route does not add the gross cash pile again. A different multiple can dominate the result; the sensitivity grid makes that choice visible.
The second route values operating profit. Starting with fiscal 2026 revenue, we apply four-and-a-half-percent growth and a sixteen-percent operating margin, both midpoints of the corresponding annual outlook with the flat currency assumption. Twelve times that operating profit gives enterprise value. We then add approximately $2.726 billion of net cash and divide by the approximately 596 million share proxy. This gives roughly $254 per share. It is an independent enterprise framework, although its business assumptions inevitably overlap with the earnings route.
The third route is a five-year discounted owner-cash model. First-year cash of $9.3 billion starts from the $11.4 billion company free-cash-flow midpoint and reserves $2.1 billion for the economic cost of stock compensation. We grow that cash by three percent through the explicit forecast, discount it at nine-and-a-half percent and use two-and-a-half-percent terminal growth. The resulting value is about $227 per share. These are levered equity cash flows, so debt is not subtracted a second time and surplus cash is not separately added.
The terminal value is a large part of the cash model, which is why the central estimate is a rounded judgment rather than a false precision average. We choose $250, bracketed by the earnings, enterprise and cash routes. The market-implied comparison asks what assumptions the reference price already buys: approximately fifteen times forward EPS and roughly ten times our midpoint operating-profit case. Those multiples do not require a return to exceptionally fast growth, but the cash model leaves a smaller cushion than the headline EPS multiple might suggest.
Our scenarios assign twenty-five percent to $170, fifty percent to $250 and twenty-five percent to $340, producing a probability-weighted $252.50. The bear case combines lower sustainable earnings and a fourteen-times multiple; the bull case uses $17 of earnings at twenty times. These probabilities are explicit analyst judgments, not measured frequencies. High uncertainty calls for a twenty-percent margin of safety before a new BUY. The $200 entry review level follows from that rule and must be recalculated if the source-backed business case changes.

The saved provider consensus labels the stock Buy, with 35 buy, 17 hold and one sell observation. Its target mean is $204.35, median $195, low $150 and high $275. Those aggregates are not a fresh collective response to this morning's release. Broker target histories and dates are shown separately so the reader can distinguish old opinions from newly published ones. The target distribution can also reflect different horizons, earnings definitions and analyst coverage. It is useful context, not an arithmetic answer to fair value.
Our $250 central estimate is higher than that saved mean even though our rating is HOLD. The rating describes the margin of safety at the current reference price; it is not a contest to choose the most optimistic target. Similarly, a Buy consensus whose average target sits below a new premarket price may simply reflect a fast market move or stale targets. We explicitly avoid claiming that analysts endorse our thesis or that a rating aggregation has updated faster than its underlying research.
Consensus financial estimates provide another cross-check, but the company reports revenue guidance in local currency and EPS on a basis that needs reconciliation. A provider's fiscal-year labels, share counts and adjusted definitions can differ. We therefore show the saved path and management's range with their source dates instead of calling any small difference a clean earnings beat. The useful question for the next review is whether estimates rise because durable revenue and cash expectations improve, or merely because the share denominator and the prior charge comparison change.

Management deserves credit for exceeding its fourth-quarter revenue range and delivering growth across markets. It also provides a detailed reconciliation rather than leaving investors to guess why adjusted and GAAP comparisons diverge. The announced dividend increases to $1.71 per quarter, five percent above the fiscal 2026 rate. At the same time, the current report provides the evidence needed to challenge the capital-return narrative: distributions were substantial, acquisitions accelerated and approximately $5 billion of new net borrowing supported the year's funding.
The key management test is the return on that deployment. Repurchasing shares below conservative intrinsic value can create lasting value, and targeted acquisitions can deepen scarce capabilities or client relationships. Neither benefit is automatic. Acquisition integration, purchase prices, retention incentives and recurring restructuring can erode the economics. The share count has fallen, but the proper scorecard considers per-share owner cash and net leverage alongside EPS. Rewarding a smaller denominator without measuring the cost of achieving it would miss the central capital-allocation tradeoff.
Five questions follow from the evidence. What explains the higher DSO, and how much reverses without stretching payment practices elsewhere? How much of next year's growth requires additional acquisitions? What proportion of the acquired capabilities earns an acceptable return after compensation and integration costs? How should investors reconcile EPS growth with a broadly flat free-cash-flow range? Finally, what minimum net-liquidity cushion governs further repurchases? These are questions for future evidence, not statements that management has withheld required disclosures or that our preferred answer is already known.

The strongest bear case is that clients use automation to reduce spending faster than Accenture can replace traditional work with higher-value engagements. Pricing pressure, lower effort per project and intense competition could compress revenue or margins even while AI-related bookings appear strong. The company itself flags technology change and AI risks. We cannot infer the net economic outcome from marketing language alone. It will appear in organic growth, billable economics, operating profit and cash generation across successive reporting periods.
A second risk is capital allocation becoming more demanding just as growth slows. Acquisitions require cash and integration capacity, while shareholder returns compete for the same resources. More borrowing can be rational, but it removes some flexibility. Higher interest costs, weaker collections or an impairment would not necessarily threaten solvency; they could still justify a lower multiple or a larger margin of safety. Currency, government-client budgets, tax rules, cyber incidents and talent retention are additional routes through which an apparently diversified model can experience correlated pressure.
The strongest bull case is that large enterprises need a trusted integration partner to deploy AI safely across legacy systems, security controls and business processes. Accenture's relationships, talent base and managed-services capabilities could make that work durable. Current broad growth and strong bookings are consistent with that possibility. In the bull outcome, acquisitions add productive capabilities, collections normalize and cash grows alongside earnings. Our HOLD recognizes those strengths while requiring the buyer to be compensated for the uncertainty in timing and the cost of delivering them.

The next decisive evidence is the annual filing for the August year-end and the next quarterly operating update. Their publication dates are not assumed here. We use expected review windows solely to schedule analytical follow-up and label the actual release date unannounced when necessary. Annual footnotes can clarify acquisition spending, debt terms, stock compensation, customer concentration and the components of receivables. The next quarter can test whether the first-quarter revenue range and collection trend are consistent with the full-year plan.
The November 13 dividend payment is a dated corporate event already declared in the release, with the October 13 record date. It is not a catalyst that mechanically creates value equal to the dividend; the distribution transfers cash from the business to shareholders. For valuation, the more consequential developments are changes in the earnings and cash outlook, evidence about acquired-business returns, and whether management preserves financial flexibility while executing the capital-return commitment.
| Date / review window | Event | What would matter |
|---|---|---|
| Oct13 2026 | Declared dividend record date | $1.71/share eligibility date; no automatic new value |
| Nov13 2026 | Declared dividend payable | Cash distribution |

| Next quarterly results; date unannounced | Q1FY27 operating update | $18.95–19.60B revenue range and full-year cash plan |
Financial tables use U.S. dollars in millions unless explicitly labeled per share, percentages, days or employee counts. The release's statements are in thousands, so monetary rows are divided by one thousand in the dataset. Quarter cash flows derived from cumulative filings are identified as computed rather than presented as independently disclosed quarterly line items. Fiscal quarters end in November, February, May and August. Historical values preserve the periods and accounting definitions of their original sources; missing disclosure is labeled rather than interpolated.
Derived growth, margins, net cash, cash yields, share-based values and valuation routes are computed in the accompanying data and model files. The source inventory binds saved SEC documents and market-provider responses by path and SHA256. We use primary statements for financial results and the named market provider for prices and consensus. The latest release is unaudited and the annual report was not yet in the reviewed submission list. Normal audit completion is not treated as an overdue filing or an unresolved restatement without specific supporting evidence.
The latest prior channel episode covered Q3 fiscal 2026 and focused on the earlier earnings beat and AI-related price decline. This packet intentionally asks a different question: whether the current profit comparison, financing decisions and forward cash plan support owner value. No earlier packet with a comparable numeric signpost set was found for grading here, so we do not invent a retrospective track record. This packet's dated thresholds become the baseline for a later review. Changes in price alone cannot establish whether an operating thesis was right.
